The Tech Specialist is the operating brand of Tech SPCS LLC — a Tri-State trade shop. We design, install, and calibrate home theaters, outdoor audio, commercial audio, and networking — and we design Agentic AI workflows for small and mid-sized businesses. We don’t sell service contracts.
The company was founded by Joe Mackovic in 2012 as Audio & Video Integrity LLC in Indiana. In 2017 it was restructured as Tech SPCS LLC in Kentucky and rebranded as The Tech Specialist. In 2026 we narrowed the focus to five service lines we’re willing to put our name on: home theaters & media rooms, outdoor audio, commercial audio, networking, and Agentic AI for business.
The Joe who pulled the wire on a 2013 theater is the same Joe who’s answering the phone today. The brand is bigger than one person — we work with vetted subcontractor crews — but the standard hasn’t changed.
A lot of AV shops bill on a recurring relationship. We don’t. The model only works if every install is engineered to keep working — picked-for-reliability gear, neat cable runs, calibration done once and done right.
It also means we say no to a lot of work. We don’t sell whole-home control systems. We don’t spec gear that needs a programmer to keep running. We don’t install anything we wouldn’t put in our own house.
